Stop Maine from being the tailpipe of the nation
Submit a comment to the US EPA to reduce air pollution
from other states.
Air pollution doesn’t respect state borders, and Maine sits at the “tailpipe of the nation,” receiving an overwhelming and disproportionate amount of pollution and smog from downwind states.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a “Good Neighbor Rule,” which would cut pollution from fossil fuel power plants and heavy industry so it doesn't end up in Maine. One quarter of Maine residents are at higher risk for serious health impacts from smog due to asthma, COPD, or other health issues. This rule will improve public health and make the outdoors safer and more accessible for everyone.
Use the form to your right to submit a comment telling the EPA you support the proposed rule that will ensure cleaner air for all.
