Help Save Endangered Atlantic Salmon
Send a message to NOAA Fisheries urging bold action in its upcoming Biological Opinion for the Kennebec River
Bringing back endangered Atlantic salmon depends on the restoration of Maine’s Kennebec River. Four dams on the lower Kennebec are blocking access to critical spawning habitat for salmon and other sea-run fish, and the owner of the dams is proposing a fish passage scheme that has never worked anywhere.
In an upcoming Biological Opinion, NOAA Fisheries has a chance to issue much stronger fish passage requirements for these dams to help bring the Kennebec back to life, but they need to hear from the public.
